Why “a fly on z wall”?

If you’ve ever watched a fly on a wall you know that it`s not real exciting. It may buzz a little or flutter its wings, but it gets rather boring. Look a little closer and you can perceive the confidence in the little creature, boiled up inside of it like hot water in a kettle. It will soar about the air around you without an ounce of hypnotizing dread over the fact that you would gladly smash it across the windowpane. We could really use some of the fly`s confidence , couldn`t we? God`s peace-filled confidence.

I love stories, but whenever I hear things about what this incredible person did and this thing someone else sacrificed for someone, I start getting a feeling of worthlessness. “I`ll never do anything like that.” But when I get to thinking, I realize that my own stories are interesting, and so are yours! It seems normal and humdrum to you because you`re so used to it.

I challenge you today to take joy in the little things. Make it your goal to help someone instead of just focusing on yourself. And then you might even find interest in a fly on the wall.
