Water and Sleep

These are two very important things. If we don’t drink water we do eventually dehydrate and die; or in a similar sense, if we don’t sleep for a very long time our body starts to shut down and we die. Now this sounds awfully gloomy and perhaps you’re vigorously counting your glasses and hours  in your head, but fortunately it takes a very profuse amount of either of these (or the lack thereof….) to do damage quickly. But that certainly does not mean it is not important.

I’ve been doing a lot on my Christmas break. For one thing, it’s Christmas, then came the new year. The result was: no sleep. And this does strange things to me; I don’t function well with ‘Sleep Lackation’ (Another result of said ‘Sleep Lackation’ is using terms that have never been invented before.). I love mornings but the only real way to be capable of enjoying the early time of the day is: I have to have enough sleep, which is where the importance of getting enough sleep comes in and then having holidays makes things difficult and is why I haven’t gotten to bed at the right times this break. *deep breath* *Pause* I am grateful to my parents because I have grown up knowing that I need sleep; everyone needs sleep but not everyone knows they need it. Eight to nine hours every night is what most people agree on is the best amount of hours of sleep.  Of course there are so many times when that fails; I do like to stay up with my family, watch a movie with friends, read that last chapter, write that one more paragraph, but the kids out there in the world that get 4 hours of sleep a night? I can’t understand how you are surviving. There is so much in learning the importance of making ourselves do things.

Water…..water?…..water…. you’ve heard it before. Water is better than pop any day, you may be dehydrated, etc., etc.  Well, it’s all true. All those little voices locked in the back chamber of your mind are real. I think water is one of the best things in the world. It’s something that is tasteless, and to some people that makes it awful but I find it perfect. That way everyone in the world can like it. God made us a source of liquid that didn’t have to please our taste buds. I can’t stress the importance of water enough. There are a lot of things that we don’t realize we need until we have seen it work. It gives energy, takes away headaches, and it is refreshes your cells.

So, this is your reminder, folks. Don’t forget your sleep, and drink water today. And wait, Sarah, what’s water and sleep got to do with fly’s on ze wolls?  Well, I suppose flies drink water too, but do they sleep? I wonder, do bugs sleep? My! There are so many things to learn in this world.

    Great post! I do not do well with “sleep lackation”. I feel best with a solid nine hours of sleep. Excellent reminder!
