365 Photography Challenge

The art of photography is a hobby and a hobby is meant to be pursued. Yes, I take pictures but often I seem to forget that I even have a camera. It sits on a shelf thinking of happier times, and just generally gathering dust. Just of late, though, I`ve received an idea that will require, at least, one picture a day. Amalia, at Second Breakfast, has started a 365 Photography Challenge. This is to take a picture everyday for the whole year; it seems rather daunting, doesn`t it? But when we started I realized that having to take a picture everyday teaches several things. One, it teaches consistency. And two, it teaches how to take quick pictures. Often we don`t have our own sweet time to play around with pictures; and though there is a place for taking  pictures slowly, there is also a place for quick shots. If this sounds interesting to you, by all means join in on the fun! You can post in the comments. Along with Amalia, Amy from Vomiting Chicken and Bethany from Dandelion Pie are also taking the challenge. Since this was the first week, I now have seven pictures to show you.

Day 1: In an attempt to take a picture of a moth I found that the window was much more interesting. Isn’t that a handsome rooster in the background?
Day 2: Ice water. Yum!
Day 3: What a happy dog.
Day 3: What a happy dog.
Day 4: My dad and I are reading this lovely book by C. S. Lewis.
Day 5: Our driveway.
Day 6: Have you ever wondered what it is like to be inside a mailbox?
Day 7: We made homemade onion rings. One onion feeds more than four people; isn`t that amazing!

Have a great week!

Sarah, you have raised the bar WAY too high on this batch of photos!. For example—how did you get inside the mailbox? And my mouth is watering at that onion ring picture. And your mama is the cutest, absolutely!! But I think my favorite must be, must must MUST be that first one. *doublevision*

I agree with Mom. I, also, am enamored with the picture from inside the mailbox. I LOVE it. Also, it makes me feel like I am the envelope from your penpal, just waiting to be opened. Bursting with excitement. Excellent photography. You go girl!

Sarah, I love these pictures! But, they make me miss you and your amazing mom even more. I’m going to miss you this school year so much. And I will miss your mom’s inspiring, challenging, and goofy teaching this year. You guys are so special. I love you, Sarah! And I love you too, Mrs. Anderson! Keep up the pictures, Sarah. You are talented.

Oh Kate darling! I wish we could keep it forever. I miss everything about it, except the stress of it. 🙂 To think of starting this school year is very daunting, isn`t it? We need to stay updated on every little detail so we feel as if we`ve lived and breathed it together. I love you so much!
